History:
Madhvacharya was born in 1238 CE in the town of Udupi, Karnataka, India. From a young age, he showed a deep interest in spiritual learning and was drawn to the teachings of the Vedas and Upanishads. He became a disciple of Acharya Raghupati, who initiated him into the study of Vedanta. As he grew older, Madhvacharya developed his distinctive philosophy of Dvaita Vedanta, which rejected the non-dualistic (Advaita) interpretations of earlier scholars like Adi Shankaracharya.
Madhvacharya is also credited with revitalizing the worship of Lord Vishnu and establishing a strong philosophical foundation for the Vaishnavism tradition in South India.
