Kaur started learning music from Ustad Puran Shahkoti when she was five years old.
It was her father, Harjinder Singh, who motivated her to sing Gurbani.
Asees has received various accolades for singing her version of Gurbani.
When the music composer, Salim Merchant, listened to her voice, he called her to Mumbai to give singing auditions.
Kaur has been a participant in the singing reality shows, Awaz Punjab Di and Indian Idol.
She rose to fame in 2016, after singing the song тАЬBolnaтАЭ from the film тАШKapoor and Sons.тАЩ
Asees has lent her voice to many Bollywood songs including Beat It Bijuriya,тАЭ тАЬPiya Re,тАЭ тАЬTera Hua (Unplugged),тАЭ тАЬJaan Nisaar,тАЭ тАЬNai Lagda,тАЭ and тАЬVe Mahi.тАЭ
She considers Arijit Singh and Noor Jahan as her inspirations.
Kaur likes to collect the rings and has a huge collection of them.
All her siblings are also good at singing Gurbani and preparing themselves to venture into Bollywood
Kaur has worked with many renowned music directors like Amzad Nadeem, Sachin Jigar, Krishna Solo, Jaidev Kumar, Arshad Khan, and Tanishk Bagchi.
