Nithin Kamath is an Indian entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of retail brokerage firm Zerodha. He was born on December 5, 1979, in Bangalore, India.
Kamath completed his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology in Bangalore, India.
Kamath used to work at a call centre in Bangalore before venturing into the stockbroking industry. He co-founded Zerodha with his brother Nikhil Kamath in 2010. Zerodha provides brokerage services for dealing in stocks, currencies and commodities. In 2019, Zerodha became largest stock broker of India. Today, Zerodha has 10 million clients.
In addition to his role at Zerodha, Kamath has been actively involved in promoting financial literacy and education in India. He has conducted several webinars, podcasts, and workshops to educate investors about various investment options and strategies.
Kamath is married to Seema Patil and has two children.
Kamath was listed in IIFL Wealth and Hurun IndiaтАЩs 40 & Under Self-Made Rich List in 2020. He was also awarded 'Entrepreneur of the Year - 2022' by The Economic Times. In 2023, he also made it to Forbes' billionaires list 2023 with net worth of around $2.7 billion and was ranked at 1104.
